Broadway Style Dance Class

Join us for a dance class where technique meets theatricality! 

Step into the spotlight and experience the energy, precision, and storytelling power of Broadway dance! This intermediate to advanced-level class for grades 6-12 dives deep into the artistry of musical theatre movement — blending technical skill with expressive performance. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or looking to fine-tune/ learn technique, this class offers an inspiring journey through the iconic eras of Broadway.

 

In this class, you will:

• Master Dance Technique & Form – Focus on placement, line, control, and dynamic execution.

• Act Through Song & Movement – Explore storytelling through character work, emotional expression, and physicality.

• Study Legendary Choreographers – Learn authentic choreography from masters like Bob Fosse, Michael Bennett, Gower Champion, Agnes DeMille, Jerome Robbins, and more.

• Dance Across Broadway Eras – From the timeless charm of Jerome Kern and the Golden Age to the brilliance of modern Broadway. 

• Create & Perform – Work on group numbers, duos, trios, and even solo routines, all leading up to an exciting end-of-semester showcase where we’ll perform the routines we’ve built together.

• Build Confidence & Stage Presence – Hone your skills as both a dancer and storyteller, connecting movement to meaning.

The Bard's Workshop - Shakespeare in Action!

Step into the world of Shakespeare’s words and bring them vividly to life! 

In this six-week workshop taught by Bobbi for grades 6-12, students will dive deep into one Shakespearean monologue, from first read to final performance. Through ensemble warmups, text exploration, and acting exercises, students will learn to unlock the rhythm, meaning, and emotional power behind Shakespeare’s language. Each student will receive individualized coaching to develop clarity, confidence, and bold character choices.

 

The workshop concludes with a public performance, where students will share their polished monologues in a celebratory showcase for family and friends!
